Being a workaholic, I am constantly looking for outlets for my creativity. There are a million and one ideas floating round my head, and only a finite number of avenues to express them. That's why I also work as a freelance copywriter as well as run Huxleymedia. It gives me the opportunity to work with a diverse bunch of people as individuals, start-ups or as part of a larger organisation. As a small business, I naturally have an affinity with people in the same position, but will work with anyone given the chance.
Freelance copywriting is often about filling gaps, helping out in a rush, or covering absence or maternity leave. That demands a quick response, fast learning and getting off to a flying start. Fortunately, those are all things I do very well. Despite being a creative, I do play nicely with others, which is an advantage when freelancing on a customer site!
It doesn't take me long to get up to speed and begin adding value in any kind of situation. My no-nonsense atitude and modicum of intelligence allows me to assess, learn, adapt and deliver in short order. Being in business myself, I appreciate that an employer is more concerned with how quickly I can begin adding value than how much I cost. That's why I work hard to begin delivering as soon as possible.
